The Crag’s Trail is more accessible in the summer time. You’d have to hike much longer in the winter when the gate is closed to access the trailhead due to snow. The hike has an incline at the very beginning for about a half a mile and then it flattens out some until you get closer to the summit and it becomes steep again. The hike is between 5-6 miles, to the summit and back. It has creek areas with running water for doggies to cool down and get a sip of water. It has a variety of views and different things to look at along the way.
After the hike at The Crag’s Trail, I suggest going into Divide to Paradox Brewery for a snack/drink. It’s dog friendly and a beautiful place to sit on a summer day.
