I think Mt. Cutler is a great hike for visitors and for locals to get the hiking season started. It’s about 1 mile up to the summit and then 1 mile back down. If you don’t like heights, there are 2 spots where it gets a little sketchy but not bad. In the warmer months I usually see some chipmunks. The parking lot is small, maybe 10 spots, but you can usually catch people coming and going if it is full.
At about .75 of a mile there is a split for Mt. Cutler or Mt. Muscoco. Mt. Muscoco is a longer hike and more challenging. If you want to go to Mt. Cutler then you turn left at the sign and head up a bit more to the summit.
This area is close to the Broadmoor hotel and you can see some of the golfing greens and some activities they have in the area like Seven Falls and some of the zip lining. The hike also includes views over Colorado Springs.

Roxy likes to take breaks on walks and hikes, especially when she finds shady areas. She just needs a little rest for a minute or so and then she gets back up and keeps going. I think the cool ground in the shade feels good to her.
There is a bench at the top of Mt. Cutler with a nice view. Roxy decided to take a break under the bench up there. Also, across the street from the parking lot there is a short path down to a stream and Roxy enjoys putting her feet in the water. It’s a pretty spot to enjoy for a minute, after a hike.

After we ended our hike, we went up the street to Sacred Grounds for lunch on their patio. The patio is dog friendly and they have bowls out there for dogs to have some water. It’s a cute cafe and has good sandwiches, salads and some breakfast items. Roxy enjoyed her visit and some bacon. Roxy recommends stopping by there.
