Roxy and I want to recommend our favorite "dog friendly" trails, establishments and more.

7 Bridges Trail – CO Springs

Seven Bridges trail is a very popular trail in the Cheyenne area of Colorado Springs. It’s about 3.4 miles according to All Trails and it has one of the larger paved parking lots in the area at the trailhead. The parking lot and trail can get very busy though.

The start of the trail is a dirt road for about a half a mile before you step to the right and start heading up and crossing over the 7 bridges. The trail follows a stream that keeps you crossing the bridges over as you head up the inclined trail. There are many places along the way that the water is accessible. Also, the water is running down over rocks and I think is clean enough for dogs to get a drink or step into to refresh their bodies.

This trail has a lot of rocks and some pretty big steps. It can be icy and snowy in the Winter/Spring due to all of the shade. I’ve also had rain and hail catch me while I was at the top with Roxy and we had to duck and cover as we headed back down.

It has beautiful views in several spots. It is a heart pumping hike but there are plenty of spots to step off the trail to catch your breath.

After you have crossed the 7th bridge, there are a few spots to sit down and relax. In the summer, chipmunks are usually running around there. There is an additional part of the trail that you can take and keep heading up. I’ve personally never gone any further up the trail. The steps become pretty steep. After you have recharged, it’s time to head back down the trail. Watch your step and let the uphill hikers have the right of way.
